‘Here We Go Again’ Reliving the Moments From JUNNY’s ‘dopamine’ Tour Stop in LA

Korean Canadian singer-songwriter JUNNY returned to Los Angeles on his dopamine tour, marking a special homecoming. In 2022, he first performed in the city on his blanc tour at 1720, before returning for K-PLAY! FEST, and a show at Catch One Matches by Bloom, with Koven Wei and Ethan Low. On Sunday, November 10, JUNNY took the stage once again at 1720, where fans packed the venue, filling it all the way to the back doors.
LA was HOHYUN’s last stop opening for JUNNY as the singer had performed on the dopamine tour for five different stops. His performance was full of energy—dancing and jumping around the stage, he effortlessly captured the audience's attention and drew them into his set. Undoubtedly, he played the fan favorite, “SUNSET BOULEVARD.” Beyond the high-energy music, HOHYUN took a moment to speak candidly about mental health and his personal experiences, earning applause and heartfelt support from the crowd.
Australian-born singer Hugo Basclain made his LA debut as an opener, performing with a live band. His soulful pop-rock sound added a unique vibe to the night.
A couple hours before the release of her debut album, The Undergrad, singer-songwriter Irene Wong took the stage as the third and final opening act of the night. She arrived in combat boots, with butterfly material wrapped up her leg and a butterfly keychain—each accessory a nod to her track “butterflies.” Wong performed lighthearted tracks like "Cute and Happy," with fans enthusiastically shouting the lyrics. She performed two new songs from the album which were "Put It Off," which highlighted her soft, emotive voice, and "Bigger Fool."
Before JUNNY took the stage, DAUL kicked off the night with a DJ set. A multi-talented producer, composer, and arranger, DAUL knew exactly how to connect with the LA crowd, starting with local hits like “Nuthin' But A "G" Thang” by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg,” “California Love” by 2Pac, and Kendrick Lamar's iconic “Not Like Us” with heavy bass. He continued to control the beats throughout JUNNY’s performance.
JUNNY hit the stage with high energy, opening with "RUSH," the title track from his dopamine EP. He danced and ran across the stage, while fans in the crowd jumped, danced, and sang along loudly to every lyric. “Is everyone ready to get f***** up?,” JUNNY asked the crowd. Fans responded with loud cheers as the energy of the night would intensify.
JUNNY followed up with upbeat, feel-good tracks like “AURA” and “TASTE,” before performing “EARLY,” which featured a sensual dance break and hip thrusts. It made us wonder—did BM from KARD, his fellow Get Real podcast host, teach him those moves, or maybe JUNNY taught BM instead? His performance had the crowd cheering, screaming, and gasping.
There was not a time when fans weren’t singing along to the lyrics of JUNNY’s songs. Water was splashed into the crowd for multiple songs including “Here We Go Again.” The energy of JUNNY, the crowd, his melodic songs, and the flashing lights perfectly captured the excitement and intensity of the night.
He then slowed things down with a beautiful set of tracks, including “solo,” “MOVIE,” “By My Side,” and “nostalgia.” The strobe lights softly pulsed, casting flickers of light across the crowd and stage. Fans waved their hands in the air, swaying to the soothing melodies, fully immersed in the moment as they listened to JUNNY’s heartfelt vocals. During "By My Side," JUNNY hit an incredible high note that stood out among many, leaving the crowd in awe.
While taking song requests for an impromptu acoustic performance, JUNNY went back and forth singing with a fan in the front row who had asked during the meet-and-greet to join him on stage. The fan sang with surprisingly smooth, rich vocals, leaving both JUNNY and the crowd impressed. JUNNY gave the fan his full approval, waving his arms up and down in a gesture of recognition as if acknowledging them as a queen or king of the moment.
JUNNY mentioned that “figure8” was one of the special songs on his dopamine EP. During the performance, the lights suddenly went out, but the flashlights from the crowd illuminated the venue, casting a soft glow and leaving only JUNNY lit on stage. He sang the song with a softer guitar in the background, allowing fans to focus on his voice and creating an intimate atmosphere that allowed the raw emotion of the track to shine through. It was a powerful moment, with his vocals echoing the vulnerability and depth of the song.

At the end of the show, fans handed JUNNY flags with handwritten messages, a Mexico flag with his face on it, and an American flag featuring an image of JUNNY with his dog, Leo. For the encore, JUNNY ran back onto the stage to perform “RUSH,” a track that perfectly encapsulated the entire night. As he sang, fans experienced an electric surge of energy, their excitement reaching a peak, making the final moments unforgettable.
