AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk Assembles K-Stars: ‘Umbrella’, A Monsoon Special Album
Multi-talented artist Lee Chanhyuk, popularly known as one-half of the acclaimed sibling duo AKMU, has joined forces with a team of talented Korean superstars from diverse fields to launch the project album, Umbrella by Leechanhyukvideo. The album was released at the end of June across all streaming platforms. Through Leechanhyukvideo, Chanhyuk has built a charming synergy showcasing his new musical essence by integrating visual arts, performances, and exhibitions. This album is proof that one doesn’t have to be a singer to express their emotions through music.
Umbrella consists of 12 tracks featuring remakes and genres like ballads and folk with a traditional and contemporary blend of alternative rock, r&b, and pop, bringing you the best rainy mix.

The title track of Umbrella includes “Dance,” featuring the talented actress Se Hwi Shin as the vocalist, and “Simple words,” a soulful duet by AKMU’s Lee Suhyun and Chang Kiha. These tracks are remakes of the beloved classics “Dance” by indie-rock band Broccoli, you too? and “Simple words” by the three-piece band Oksu Sajinkwan with a fusion of Leechanhyukvideo’s unique and novel arrangement.
Introducing this project on Instagram, Chanhyuk stated that he neither participated in the singing nor writing of the tracks; instead, he worked on everything else. The artist expresses the message behind the album: “A small umbrella that fills in as soon as I open to enter, small enough that I can't invite anyone or anything else, and hope that when I close, it stays closed with all the secrets that should be hidden from the world.”
The 'Umbrella' project is also a collaboration with MF (Mystery Friends Studio), which specializes in domestic content production and marketing and is now expanding to global marketing. By taking part in the production of the ‘Umbrella’ project by Leechanhyukvideo, MF aims to actively drive the growth and promotion of K-pop artists both domestically and internationally.
